The Red EDUCAR management team in Spain met this Monday, September 14, in Madrid to address the challenges of the 2026-2027 academic year and advance the organization of the International Congress that will bring together the Augustinian Recollect Educational Family in March.
With classrooms already underway, Red EDUCAR also begins a new year of shared work. Representatives of the Augustinian Recollect educational centers in Spain met this Monday at Casa San José in Madrid to share the priorities, concerns, and projects that will mark the coming months.
The meeting brought together the Red EDUCAR management team in Spain, composed of representatives from the schools and the religious institutions that form part of the common educational project.
Fray Roberto Sayalero, a team member representing the Province of San Nicolás de Tolentino, explained that the day allowed them to “design a bit how we are going to approach this new academic year here in Europe,” in addition to resuming the tasks that had been outlined before the summer.
The meeting was attended by Sergio Almenzar, coordinator of Red EDUCAR; María Victoria Gálvez, from the Agustiniano School of Madrid; David Antoñanzas, from Zaragoza; and the representatives of the sponsoring institutions: Sr. Ana Rosa Martinez, for the Augustinian Recollect Missionaries; Fray Lorenzo Pérez de Eulate, for the Province of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria; Fray José María Sánchez, for the Province of Santo Tomás de Villanueva; and Fray Roberto Sayalero, for the Province of San Nicolás de Tolentino.
A new academic year for the nine schools in Spain
One of the team’s first objectives will be to convey to the faculties of the nine schools in Spain the concerns and hopes with which Red EDUCAR approaches the 2026-2027 academic year.
The meeting thus served to resume joint work after the summer, review pending tasks, and establish the priorities of a network that seeks to strengthen collaboration among the different centers and advance a shared educational identity.
Red EDUCAR brings together the educational centers of the Augustinian Recollects and the Augustinian Recollect Missionaries and enables the sharing of projects, experiences, and lines of work from a single educational and evangelizing proposal.
The International Congress, the year’s major event
Much of the focus is already on one of the great events of this academic year: the Red EDUCAR International Congress, which will be held from March 1 to 5, 2027, in Madrid.
It will be an event that will bring together the Augustinian Recollect educational family and constitutes one of the main organizational challenges for the coming months.
Fray Roberto Sayalero highlighted precisely this task among the priorities addressed during the meeting: preparing an international gathering capable of bringing together the Augustinian Recollect educational community and continuing to build, from different realities and places, a common educational project.
With the academic year already underway in the schools, the Madrid meeting thus marks the start of Red EDUCAR’s work for a year in which coordination among the centers and the celebration of the International Congress will occupy a central place.
