It all always starts with a question:
Why not?
God is calling you, and together we can discover it.
The Christian vocation is always a mystery that unfolds in the depths of the heart. It doesn’t begin with great certainties, but with a whisper. With a disquiet that we don’t always know how to name. With that “something” that one day makes us wonder if perhaps God is calling us to something more.
Those of us who are part of the Augustinian Recollect family know this experience well. We are people from very different backgrounds, with very diverse histories, cultures, and educations. However, we all share a common starting point: feeling called. Each of us at a different time, each of us by unexpected paths, but all with that inner spark that one day led us to knock on the doors of the Order.
For some, the seed was planted upon encountering someone whose life spoke volumes; someone whose example awakened a new desire, a different way of understanding happiness. Others felt a special attraction to the mission, to a specific way of serving where selflessness becomes joy. There are also those who, faced with the consumerist and individualistic outlook of our time, sensed that their hearts were made for something greater. Still others sought greater spiritual depth, more silence, more prayer, more communion with God.
Each Augustinian Recollect could tell a different story. But behind them all beats the same movement: a God who calls. A God who loves. A God who invites us to give our lives in following Christ, as disciples sent into the world.
"The naturalness of community life inspired me"
"My desire to find answers led me to Christ and the Order."
The vocational journey is always personal and unique. It’s a path you don’t walk alone. In our communities, you’ll find mentors to help you take the first steps and put words to what you feel. In each region, we have vocation promoters who will accompany you with closeness, respect, and freedom, helping you discern if this calling is for you.
Where there is restlessness, there is a path. Where there are questions, there is a search. And in that search, the most important thing is to remember that the initiative always comes from God, who calls with patience, with tenderness, with the certainty that every life can become a gift for many.
God is calling.
And together we can discover it.
We want to walk with you.
