The objective of the Augustinian Days of the Parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico, was to share the faith through community living and to promote the Augustinian Recollect charism and identity among the parish community, both through the liturgy (Eucharist, prayer) and through formation, with various conferences.
On August 23rd was celebrated a retreat entitled “Abiding in Love”. The following day, Sunday the 24th, a solemn Eucharist was held at 1:30 p.m., followed by a community gathering to share dialogue, knowledge, and mutual support.
On Monday the 25th, at 6:00 p.m., Nemesio Díez, a committed layman, gave a talk, “The Mother of God of Czestochowa,” explaining the origins of this Marian devotion that gives the parish its name. On Tuesday the 26th, the Augustinian Days program held a Marian service to give the faithful the opportunity to share their love for Mary.
On Wednesday, August 27, the feast day of Saint Monica, the Augustinian Recollect Jorge Quirós, formator of the Saint Augustine Postulancy in Mexico City, gave the talk “The Pilgrim’s Backpack,” focusing on both the Jubilee Year Pilgrims of Hope 2025 and the Augustinian Recollect charism. Some of the postulants collaborated with him during the talk, as a performance.
On St. Augustine’s Day, August 28, at 6:00 p.m., the Augustinian religious Marcos Antonio López Cisneros, a student at the Augustinian Philosophical-Theological Institute of Mexico City, gave the talk “Proposal for common life and community from the spirituality of St. Augustine.”
The Augustinian Days concluded with the Eucharist of the Solemnity of St. Augustine and a fraternal gathering, a quality space for encounter, dialogue and fraternity, highlighting the experience of a charism and a spirituality that continues to unite restless hearts today.
The sessions were, in the words of the Parish itself on its social media, “a true time of grace, communion, and fraternity. May the Augustinian spirit remain within us, always remembering the words of our Father: love and do what you will.”
