The Vicariate of Peru of the Order of Augustinian Recollects celebrated its 2025 National Assembly between November 11 and 13 at the San Ezequiel Moreno Seminary, located in Lurín. The meeting was attended by 30 religious from the six communities present in the country, who shared days of reflection, pastoral review, and fraternity.
The Assembly opened with a formative moment focused on the three wisdoms of the Augustinian Recollect charism, an axis that seeks to illuminate community and apostolic life in the current context.

-
Friar Lucilo Echazarreta OAR presented the wisdom of interiority, emphasizing the importance of “returning to the heart to discern and listen to the inner Master.”
-
Sister Carmen Toledano, an Augustinian religious, developed the wisdom of community as a space where the Gospel is lived in a concrete and daily way.
-
Friar Wilmer Moyetones OAR presented the wisdom of ecclesiality, recalling that every Augustinian Recollect mission is always carried out in communion with the Church.
During the following days, those responsible for Vocational Promotion, JAR and FSAR, ARCORES, educational centers, radio, and the various parish ministries presented the reports of the current year and outlined the projects for 2026. All proposals were oriented around the missionary motto that guides this new pastoral cycle:
“Proclaim Christ wherever you can”, an expression that summarizes the evangelizing commitment of the entire Augustinian Recollect family.
The participants highlighted the importance of strengthening vocational processes, revitalizing youth ministry, consolidating social works, and enhancing the presence of the Order in local media. They also emphasized the need to continue promoting ongoing formation and community life initiatives.

Pilgrims of Hope
The Assembly concluded with a pilgrimage to the Lurín Cathedral, where the religious experienced the Jubilee as Pilgrims of Hope. The day culminated with the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by Mons. Fray Emiliano Cisneros Martínez OAR , bishop of the diocese, who encouraged the friars to continue proclaiming the Gospel with joy, austerity, and a synodal spirit.
The meeting left a renewed impetus to continue strengthening the mission and community life of the Augustinian Recollects in Peru, in communion with the entire Order and in tune with the current challenges of the Church.
