The 2025 school year at the Hope Center de Tapauá (Amazonas, Brazil) has ended, and all those who made it possible for its social and educational function to be a success for another year celebrated it with much fun, joy, and, of course, emotion.
December 3rd was the last health prevention conference, which this time focused on the management of endemic diseases. The Center’s beneficiaries learned about the most common diseases in their geographic area, how to prevent them, and how to help reduce their prevalence.
The end of the school year has also led to the Hope Center making its presence felt at other educational institutions in the city. For example, on December 5th, students from the musical keyboard workshop and the center’s official singer were invited to perform at an end-of-year event at the Amazonas State University campus in Tapauá.
The following day, December 6, the students participated in the last scavenger hunt of the year, with fun games and entertainment for everyone, kicking off the final days of the school year with activities that were already different from the usual ones.
On December 8th, the finals of the sports competitions were held, with prizes and medals awarded to all the winners. On the 10th, during lunchtime, all the students enjoyed a special farewell meal, receiving watermelon from local producers as a very special end-of-year gift.
Finally, on December 11th, the 2025 end-of-year party was held at the Center, with the presentation of certificates for having fully completed the workshops in music, painting, computer science, crafts, painting…
One of the most emotional moments was the farewell to the students who were finishing their stay upon reaching adulthood. One of them, Antonia, gave the speech on their behalf, saying, between sobs of emotion:
“A feeling of gratitude fills my heart at this moment. All these years at the Center have put me in touch with values I will never forget. Here I have not only learned to do things, but above all to understand and learn new values and an education that has prepared me to now have many more opportunities in the world that awaits me, with greater responsibility to choose the path I want to take.”
That’s why I thank everyone who has contributed their efforts so that I can complete this journey today. I thank God for having come this far; I’ve been at the Center since I was 10 years old. Many thanks to the teachers I’ve had and to my mother, who always encouraged me to come here and thus achieve a better future.”
