The official website of the Province of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine makes its final update in the News section today with this news, closing a cycle that has lasted 21 years, eight months and 16 days.
All this time we have wanted to accompany readers under three main premises:
- To report on the life of the Augustinian-Recollect Family within the Province: communities and ministries, social works and formation houses, ordinary and extraordinary pastoral, cultural or solidarity activities, organized by consecrated and lay people.
- Promote our own charism and spirituality through digital evangelization activities, including liturgical commentaries and vocational testimonies, disseminating our history and spirituality, and sharing opinions and perspectives based on our own charism.
- Creating communion, because by knowing more, one loves more; knowing what the members of this Family (consecrated and lay, older and younger, men and women) do, say and promote makes it easier to love each other, establish bonds, feel united, join common projects, walk together, recognize one another in a single identity without losing the richness of diversity.
The final figures fill the Province and all those who have collaborated to achieve what we are concluding today with a healthy pride. There have been a total of 10,646 publications in Spanish, 3,187 in Portuguese, and 2,351 in English. A true treasure and heritage of the Province and the Order, easily accessible with a click in the digital environment.
62 % were actual news stories; another 28% Pastoral proposals; 3% reports on varied topics with a deeper and more analytical approach; and the remaining 7% historical, charismatic, vocational, testimonial and identity dissemination, accessible from the “About Us” menu or in the “Testimonies” within Updates.
Our readers have been with us. In the last year of AgustinosRecoletos.org ‘s existence, we’ve had 105,000 unique users; in the last month alone, we’ve had almost 15,500, who have viewed 25,000 pieces of content. Over 95% arrived via search engines, after searching for specific terms that led them to one of our articles.
This enormous volume of information has been the Province’s greatest asset in its online presence, and the fact that it has consistently added new content daily has allowed more terms and topics to bring new readers to the site in the future.
Between December 2023 and December 2025, this content was viewed 438,245 times in Spanish; the most viewed post, with 4,321 views, was “Augustinian Phrases, Arrows That Reach the Heart” (published in 2013); followed by “The Vocation of Jeremiah: When You Can’t Look the Other Way” (2020), with 3,465 views, and “I Will Lend You a Son for a While,” with 2,835 views, published in 2008. Note that all of them were published well before the time frame chosen for the statistics.
In Portuguese, the most read has been “Saint Augustine: We are pilgrims who radiate hope, walking com joy and with the eyes looking to the Highs”, with 1,025 visualizations, followed by “Saint Augustine and small things: Do you aspire to great things? Start peeling smallest”, with 591 and “Augustine un His golden ark. The sepulcher of Saint Augustine in Pavia, Italy”, with 496. In total, in these two years, the total reach in Portuguese has been 64,707 views.
In the case of English, there have been 70,821 views over the last two years. The three with the greatest reach have been “Saint Nicholas of Tolentine in Capas, Tarlac, Philippines. Footprints of the Province of Saint Nicholas in History ” ( 882 views); “The Order of Augustinian Recollects restructured” ( 734) and “St. Augustine’s Monastery in Kenya: contemplating in the desert” (620).
The website is rounded out by the provincial calendar, now a valuable historical document detailing what happened, where, and when; and the document repository, which contains 1,433 files in Spanish, 68 in Portuguese, and 22 in English, with a total of 7,125 downloads in the last two years. Behind these figures lies a tremendous effort in digitizing and preserving old works and producing new ones.
During its more than two decades of existence, the website has adapted to the times and technologies; it has added content daily and has had multiple collaborators, prominent firms and specialists, in an arduous task of searching for quality and interesting novelty for the readers.
The work of the translation teams has also been extremely important, allowing three of the four official languages of the Province of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino (Spanish, English and Portuguese) to be present daily since 2018.
The website has only gone down twice: initially, it suffered a jihadist attack that was resolved within 24 hours; and a couple of months ago, it experienced a serious technical issue that took two weeks to resolve. In both cases, the site was restored from a backup with additional technical and editorial work.
From now on, news from the Province of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine will be added to the Recoletos.org website within the subdomain snt.recoletos.org. However, the process of transferring all existing information from AgustinosRecoletos.org to the new subdomain will still take a year, according to the new administrators. Therefore, AgustinosRecoletos.org remains open for access to all information prior to December 5, 2025, as well as for continuing to update its calendar and document repository.
