The third international edition of FRAYMUN (Fray Luis de León Model United Nations) has brought together students from different countries in an educational experience that combines academic training, social commitment, and living the Augustinian Recollect charism. The event, promoted for years by the Colegio Fray Luis de León de Querétero (Mexico), took place in an atmosphere of fraternity and collaboration, and has confirmed the value of this project as one of the most significant initiatives of the Order’s educational network.

An educational model at the service of the common good

FRAYMUN is a simulation of the United Nations system in which students assume the role of delegates from different countries to debate, negotiate, and propose solutions to major global challenges. Through this model, young people develop skills such as argumentation, critical thinking, and teamwork, while deepening an integral vision of the person.

Inspired by Augustinian spirituality, the project promotes an education that unites knowledge, ethics, and faith, forming students capable of integrating reflection and action in the construction of a more just society.

An international edition that strengthens fraternity

The 2026 edition featured the participation of delegations from Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Brazil, which provided a particularly significant international dimension. The coexistence among students from different countries fostered cultural exchange and strengthened ties between the schools of the EDUCAR network.

Furthermore, the hosting of international participants by host families contributed to creating an atmosphere of closeness and hospitality, reflecting the spirit of community characteristic of the Augustinian Recollects.

Debate, proposals, and commitment

During the working sessions, delegates addressed highly topical issues such as education, drug trafficking, environmental impact, artificial intelligence, international conflicts, and the emotional well-being of young people.

As a result of dialogue and negotiation, students developed various resolutions aimed at the common good, including proposals to combat illiteracy, strengthen ethical regulation of artificial intelligence, protect natural resources, and improve access to mental health. These initiatives reflect the participants’ commitment to building a more just, sustainable, and inclusive world.

A transformative experience

Beyond academic content, FRAYMUN has been an experience of personal and community growth for young people. The opportunity to represent a country, defend positions in an international environment, and engage in dialogue with other students has allowed them to develop leadership skills and social awareness.

Participants particularly highlighted the value of meeting other young people, the richness of cultural exchange, and the opportunity to reflect on their role in society.

Culture, community, and celebration

The program also included cultural and artistic moments, such as the participation of the orchestra from the Autonomous University of Querétaro, which offered an educational concert bringing classical music closer to the attendees.

The involvement of the entire educational community—students, teachers, religious, management teams, and families—has been key to the success of the event, demonstrating an educational model based on collaboration and shared responsibility.

A commitment that continues

The closing of FRAYMUN 2026 highlighted satisfaction with the work accomplished and encouraged young people to continue putting into practice the values experienced during the event. In this way, FRAYMUN is consolidated as a platform that not only trains academic competencies but also encourages students to become agents of change, committed to human dignity, justice, and the care of our common home.
